Russian courts to hear two cases seeking one billion rubles in damages each over ‘almost naked’ party

Russian courts will consider two lawsuits from citizens over the “almost naked” party held by TV presenter Nastya Ivleeva in Moscow last month. In both cases, the plaintiffs are seeking one billion rubles ($11,290,000) in damages.

In Russia’s capital, a group of 23 citizens led by producer Aleksandr Inshakov has filed a class action suit against Ivleeva and the mobile network operator MTS, which served as one of the party’s organizers. According to Russian state media, a court date has not yet been set.

In Russia’s Leningrad region, a woman who belongs to a group called the “Morozov-Zlatoust religious brotherhood” is suing Ivleeva, rapper Vacio (Nikolai Vasiliev), and singers Philipp Kirkorov, Lolita Milyavskaya, and Dima Bilan. She claims the “almost naked” party caused her and her child “moral and physical suffering” as well as “feelings of hopelessness, doom, and fear for the further of our children, our grandchildren, and Russia.” The woman is seeking 200 million rubles ($2,254,000) from each of the five defendants.
